>Omnibus-Park mu modernisiert werden
Article Abstract:
84% of the buses of Slovenske autobusove dopravy (SAD), the state-owned public transport unit, have to be replaced. Currently SAD has 5,400 buses. Most of the buses were from Karosa Yvsoke Myto in Czechia and Ikarus of Hungary. The Slovak government decided to start assembling buses locally. On the basis of Karosa buses, three plants will assemble buses, with the aim of reaching a local content of 90%. These are a Liaz plant in Zvolen, a SlovBus unit in Nove Mesto nad Vahom and a plant in Lucene. To cover immediate demand, SAD will buy 100 buses for Sk 2.6mn (per unit) and make a barter deal for another 51 buses with Karosa.
